“If I would have known it was going to be this nice, I would have learned to ski all over again!” Larry Curtis, Veteran Snowsports School Instructor.

At Bristol Mountain, we’ve always been committed to offering the best possible experience for all of our visitors. This commitment is evident in our latest major capital project: the development of the brand-new Lunar Launch Complex. Tailor-made for beginners, this area now boasts a series of landmark upgrades and thoughtful design changes creating an unrivaled learning environment.

Introducing the New Launching Pad: Doubling the Capacity, Doubling the Fun

One of the most significant upgrades in the new Lunar Launch Complex is the replacement of the old Launching Pad lift with a new state-of-the-art double Sunkid Lift. This new installation features two tracks, more than doubling the uphill capacity of the Lunar Launch Complex and significantly reducing wait times. In addition, the new Lunar Launch #1 and Lunar Launch #2 lifts are covered, offering both increased runtime and a more comfortable experience for guests.

Expanded Terrain: A Playground for Progression

The expansion of the Launching Pad Complex has now doubled the terrain available to our first time skiers and riders. The entire surface of the new learning area has been meticulously graded to provide the optimal conditions for learning. With this expanded terrain, new skiers and riders can enjoy a natural progression flow, mastering different pitches before moving on to more challenging terrain. This thoughtful setup guides beginners smoothly from the Launching Pad to the Sunset Chairlift as they work on taking on Upper and Lower Infinity with confidence.

Streamlined Traffic Flow: A Breath of Fresh Air for Beginners

To further isolate the beginner area, we’ve re-imagined the follow of traffic within the Lunar Launch Complex. Guests will now load the Sunset Chairlift from the North side, reducing potential congestion. Additionally, a new row of trees has been planted to create a natural barrier, preventing skiers and riders from entering the Lunar Launch Complex from the Sunset Trail. This new setup ensures that beginners have a sheltered, spacious environment to practice in, free from the pressures of more advanced skiers and riders.

Improved Infrastructure

A complete overhaul of the infrastructure took place with the establishment of the Lunar Launch Complex. The list of improvements includes new lights, new snowmaking equipment, new electrical wiring, and more outlets for fan guns. This improved infrastructure will make a huge difference in getting our beginner area open earlier and keeping it open longer.

These monumental changes underscore Bristol Mountain’s commitment to providing a superior learning environment. The Lunar Launch is now better than ever, offering beginners a space to build their skills and their love for the sport.
